Industries / Solvent recovery
From waste stream to valuable product
Solvent regeneration business requires both flexibility and efficiency. Our multi-purpose plants are specifically designed for this purpose: they reliably dehydrate various solvents and solvent mixtures, maximising your profit margin through the most energy-efficient process on the market.
The key requirement: Maximum flexibility
As a recycling service provider, you have to deal with constantly changing composition and purity requirements. Our multi-purpose plants are specifically designed to meet this challenge.
- Wide solvent compatibility: Our solution is compatible for a wide range of organic solvents and common thinner mixtures.
- Variable purity levels: The plants reliably achieve a target purity of < 1% water, and down to 0.1%for high-purity applications.
- Guaranteed quality: The batch process enables precise control of purity through simple adjustment of the batch time.
More efficient than incineration
Traditionally, spent solvents are disposed of through incineration, destroying valuable resourceswhile generating significant CO₂ emissions. Our pervaporation and hybrid processes offer a far more efficient and sustainable alternative for solvent regeneration.
The key advantage for your business is that our regeneration process consumes less energy than incineration. This makes solvent recovery not only an environmentally responsible choice, but also a commercially attractive one.
Reliable processes for challenging feedstocks
Spent solvents are rarely clean. Our process is therefore designed to handle impurities effectively.
- Pre-treatment of solids: An upstream evaporation step safely removes salts or active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Proven membrane stability: We carry out laboratory testing in advance using your typical feed materials.
- Safety is standard: All systems are designed in accordance with ATEX- and PED requirements.
Frequently asked questions
What does "multi-purpose" specifically mean for DeltaMem plants?
“Multi-purpose” means that the systems are designed to dehydrate a wide range of organic solvents and solvent mixtures. This flexibility is essential for recycling service providers handling constantly changing feed streams, enabling you to respond individually to varying customer requirements.
Does DeltaMem supply standard plants for solvent regeneration?
Yes. In addition to customised large-scale plants, we have developed a cost-effective standard unit for batch pervaporation. It is ideally suited for capacities of up to 5 m³ (5,000 litres) of wet solvent per day and offers a fast and economical entry into professional solvent processing.
Does pervaporation require chemical additives?
No. DeltaMem’s pervaporation technology dehydrates solvents through a purely physical membrane-based process. In contrast to distillation, which often requires a third component (entrainer) to separate certain mixtures, this approach is simpler and results in a higher-purity final product.
How does DeltaMem ensure that the plant performs effectively for specific solvent mixtures?
For every project, we carry out comprehensive laboratory tests in our test centre. Using samples of your typical feed mixtures, we verify the long-term stability of our membranes and provide a detailed analytical characterisation of the purified solvents. This validation forms the basis of our process promise and minimises your technical risk.
How does DeltaMem ensure the required purity of the final product?
DeltaMem relies specifically on batch processes for this industry, providing maximum control over product quality. Dies gibt Ihnen die maximale Kontrolle über die Produktqualität. The desired final water content (e.g. < 1% or < 0.1%) is achieved reliably and reproducibly by adjusting the batch duration.
